All applicants must provide a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check with their application. This applies to new licence applications, renewals, and licence type changes.
Your CRJMC must be issued within six months of the date you submit your application. An older check will not be considered valid, so time your check close to when you apply.

The CRJMC is the middle of Ontario's three levels of police record check.
Under Ontario's Police Record Checks Reform Act, 2015, a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check includes everything in a basic Criminal Record Check — applicable criminal convictions and certain youth findings of guilt — plus:
A basic Criminal Record Check does not include these, which is why a Basic check does not meet the licence requirement. A vulnerable sector check is a different check and is not what the licence application asks for.
The CRJMC is one part of your application.
The Government of Ontario also lists eligibility requirements for individual licence applicants, including that you must be 18 years old or older, legally entitled to work in Canada, and meet the clean criminal record requirement.
